  Well, I'm a dad for the first time all over again

  when i found this site i considered myself a fader with family still in the cult.

  i thought that i should limit personal information so that any lurking scumbag wts reps couldn't track me and jeopardize the relationships i walk on eggshells to maintain with my family.

  but something happened last night that caused me to suddenly not give a rats anal orifice what jw's think.. i got called 'daddy'.. my wife and i went through the court system in the early 90's to get her 2nd cousin who was 11 at the time, out of protective services (which was a group home for abused children).

  think i just did something really stupid.

  i have had a bad couple of days.

  i was in the playground yesterday and had my jw bil stood right in front of me ignoring me totally (i'm d'ad) but talking to my hubby, who said nothing to him (her my eifes here too or something would have been nice) so i felt like total dogs poo and we both ended up in tears over it all when i got home.

  The Insight and Wisdom of Warren Jeffs

  i don't know how many of you are following the trial of warren jeffs, leader of a mormon splinter sect, who is being prosecuted for arranging and advocating the marriage of young girls (14 years old and thereabouts) to much older men, with the parents' cooperation, of course.. one of these victims testified that she was made to listen to recorded sermons by this guy pretty much throughout the day.. cnn helpfully provided a snippet of one of his recordings:.

  Also I think he is talking about Chuck Berry, whom the Beatles often cited as their major influence. Though Berry was an alcoholic and was black he wasn't a homosexual. What an idiot!

  It's still a double standard. People illegally copy the WTS literature and share it out. If someone were to do that to Babara (even though I doubt she would care much) they would be attacked and probably banned for such a thing! I agree that people should pay for it, but you guys are assuming that if we got it for free none of us would purchase it. I usually download albums for free and then purchase them. Just like with most books or especially something like this with complied info, I would be more likely to purchase after viewing then without viewing. Of course I am sure there are more willing not to pay and just get it for free. Either way who cares? If Barb isn't too overly worried, just don't let it get out of control!

  first off, let me apologize in advance if this subject has been discussed before.

  i have been reading this board for 6-8 months now and though i try to keep up with the posts (as well as catching up on past ones ) there is just so much info on here that i might have missed it.

  anyway, on a previous post i mentioned that there are some really sharp people on this forum; people whose bible knowledge greatly exceeds that of anyone in brooklyn.

  It would more then likely never happen so it's useless speculation. The problem is the "well thats just what I believe" crutch that so many dubs use. My Dad used this argument over what the "good news" actually was. He finally just had to give up and say, "well thats what I believe and your not going to convince me otherwise". Organization gets passed to the individual when there is something negative or a doctrine can't be argued. It turns in to "I choose to believe". Also lets not get ahead of ourselves. There are some smart people but the WTS could pull a rich billion dollar corporation and hire a scholar with no morals to defend them.

  i am writing because i am tired of people talking about rumours that they heard about dave madzay,he was the kindest , most intelligent man i ever new, yes he was df but only jehovah can judge him for things he did, no one else.he was an elder very high up in bethel who gave the most wonderful talks, helped many people,brought a lot of people into the truth and yet when he died not one jw attended his funeral.

  how sad that a man who was so high up in bethel could be treated like this...........i was brought up in the truth until i was 15 , and turned away because of how dave was treated, even though dave had jehovah in his heart right up until his last breath and did everything he could do to be reinstated but sadly never was.........................i know i knew him

  Are you his daughter or something? You keep saying how much you care for him and he wasn't a bad man. Yet you don't give any details about him other then he was "good". This might sound a bit mean but try to give us soooommmmeeee details.
